Public transport: Travelling by public transport (metro, tram, bus) in Brussels is not recommended as the platforms and trains are often poorly adapted to wheelchair users (holes and steps between the platforms and the metro). Access (entrances/exits) to stations are adapted for PRM with assistance (notably Gare du Midi, Gare Centrale and Rogie and Botanique stations). STIB map of accessible stations: https://urlr.me/R97Xg) If you still wish to use public transport, you should know that the STIB (Brussels tram and metro network) offers to book assistance to help wheelchair users to get on and off the metro. The assistance is only given from the platform to get on the metro, and stops on the platform after getting off the vehicle. Assistance is available every day from 7am to 10pm. Reservations can be made by telephone on 02 515 23 65 or via the online form on the website: www.stib.be For more information, link to the STIB guide for disabled travellers: http://urlr.me/TRgct |
